Which USDT network are you on?
USDT is a token issued on several blockchains. Sending on the wrong one is the single most common way people lose it — and an address alone often will not tell you which network is meant.

Always confirm the network with the recipient, and check the address on the chain you are actually sending on.
What the check tells you about a USDT address
Whether it is a collection address
Scam collection wallets receive from many unrelated addresses and forward quickly. That pattern is visible in the counterparty breakdown even when the address has no reports against it yet.
Whether it is an exchange deposit address
Sending to a deposit address you were given by a third party is a common fraud setup. Entity attribution names the exchange when it can be identified.
Frozen or enforcement history
Tether can freeze USDT at specific addresses. Prior enforcement against an address is a strong signal about its owner.
Where the money came from
Source-of-funds shows the origin of the balance, so you can tell ordinary trading flow from proceeds routed through mixers or known fraud.

Which USDT network am I dealing with?
Look at the address. Starts with T and is 34 characters — TRC20 on TRON. Starts with 0x — either ERC20 on Ethereum or BEP20 on BNB Smart Chain, and those two are indistinguishable by address alone, so you must confirm the network with the recipient.
I sent USDT on the wrong network. Can I get it back?
Sometimes. The funds exist at the same address on the other chain, so if you control that address you can access them by adding the network to your wallet. If you sent to an exchange deposit address, only that exchange can recover it — contact support immediately, though many will not.
Why is TRC20 USDT so common in scams?
Fees are cents and settlement is seconds, which is exactly what a scammer collecting from many victims wants. TRON carries a very large share of global USDT transfers, both legitimate and not.
Can USDT be frozen?
Yes. Tether can freeze balances at specific addresses, on any chain. An address with frozen balances has usually been the subject of an enforcement action, which a check will surface.
Is checking a USDT address free?
Yes — free, no account, and it covers token transfers rather than only the native coin of each chain.
