Cascade Platform Suffers $1.34 Million Attack on Arbitrum
Cascade experienced a significant security incident resulting in a loss of approximately $1.34 million. The attack involved manipulation of the market to trigger liquidations and led to the pausing of trading and withdrawals.
The incident occurred on July 15, 2026, when an attacker exploited the pre-launch locked CLS vault of Cascade, a perpetual contract platform. By accumulating long positions in a low-liquidity market, the attacker was able to artificially inflate the mark price, which triggered large-scale liquidations of CLS short positions.
Following the attack, the perpetrator withdrew around $1.34 million USDC. In response, the project team paused all trading and withdrawals to address the situation. Fortunately, the majority of the funds were recovered, and full compensation was arranged for the users affected by the incident.
