Ostium Suffers $18 Million Oracle Manipulation Exploit
Ostium experienced a significant security incident involving an oracle manipulation exploit. The attack resulted in a loss of approximately $18 million USDC from the liquidity vault.
Ostium, a decentralized exchange focused on real-world assets, was targeted in an oracle manipulation exploit. The attacker compromised an oracle signer key to submit fraudulent future-dated price reports, which generated artificial trading profits.
As a result of the exploit, Ostium drained around $18 million USDC from its liquidity vault. In response to the incident, the protocol has halted trading and is currently conducting an investigation.
