Verus Ethereum Bridge Exploited for $7.54 Million
The Verus Ethereum Bridge was exploited, resulting in a loss of approximately $7.54 million. This incident marks the second exploit of the same flaw identified in May.
The attacker exploited the bridge's import path to trigger unbacked payouts on the Ethereum side. As a result, around $7.54 million in assets, including ETH, tBTC, and USDC, were drained from the bridge reserves. The project has not yet released a detailed official statement regarding this incident.
